The I²S (Integrated Interchip Sound) [1] bus is used to carry PCM data from audio controller to DAC.

The Snapper CL15 module uses I²S internally to connect to the TLV320AIC23B Low-Power Stereo CODEC with HP Amplifier [2] chip, providing audio output for the system.
