DDS-Xpress

The DDS-Xpress provides companies with a high level of flexibility, allowing it to operate with a wide range of legacy equipment that uses a PERTEC interface. Originally designed to replace tape units used within NEC NEAX exchanges, it requires no change of existing procedures, no software or hardware installation apart from cable connection. It is extremely easy to operate and requires little training. A comprehensive support and maintenance service is available through a network of local distributors and value-added resellers.

The DDS-Express provides:

• 2x PERTEC 50 pin connectors
• 1x generic 50 pin generic connector (supports generic 61M Kennedy adaptor)
• 1x RJ45 Ethernet port
• 512MB internal storage (upgradeable to 2GB) with internal ECC and RAID functionality for maximum data integrity
• 1x RS232 serial port (for unit control)
• 1x xD card slot for up to 2GB of removable storage
• 48V power supply via standard 6 pin connector
• 400 MHz Intel XScale processor with 64MB RAM
• 240x160 LCD provides simple menu operation
• Mode switchable between device models in software
• Upgradable software to enable operation with custom infrastructures
• Reliable Linux-based OS
