Router Unit Retail

Dick Smith Electronics (http://www.dse.co.nz) sells the XH1151 4-port Ethernet Broadband Router (http://www.dse.co.nz/cgi-bin/dse.storefront/en/product/XH1151) for $97 (as of 3/12/2004).

Dick Smith Electronics have sponsored and supported this project, through technical support and dealing on my behalf with the manufacturer of the router, and by supplying us with 14 routers free of charge, to encourage development of uClinux on the router.

Overseas, a similar router may be available, called the Surecom EP-4904AX/SZ (http://www.surecom-net.com/pd-broadband-4904sx.htm); to the best of my knowledge, it has the same internal circuitry.

Update: DSE and others are now selling a revision two board, that has an updated power supply section and double the flash memory (from 1 meg upto 2 meg!) for the same price. See this page.

Buy a complete kit

Bluewater Systems Ltd. sell complete, modified and tested router units (pre-loaded with our uClinux installation), along with one of our JTAG debug adapters, and a CD containing tools, software, basic documentation, and source code. The kit is aggressively priced at NZ$180 (around US$100 depending on the exchange rate).
